A Life In Focus
Working out how to live a life that is in focus - one that focuses on your own mind, body and soul, focuses on the lives of others, near and far, and focuses on God - doesn't happen overnight. In fact, for most of us, it is a process that takes a lifetime. And to speak of "working out" how to live a life that is in focus is really appropriate, for it takes hard work to bring a life into focus and keep it that way.
The University Church wants to help facilitate your spiritual journey - a journey to bring life into focus. We are intentional about finding ways to make this journey together. We make no secret of the fact that the journey can involve hard work and perhaps even moments when you wonder why you started in the first place. This journey can also take you to places of astounding beauty, lead to friendships that last a lifetime, give you new purpose and change your whole life.
Read on to find out just how you might be involved in this journey by being part of a Focus Group. Focus Groups meet every other week for about one and a half hours. The purpose of Focus Groups is to help each of us determine where we are on our individual spiritual journeys and help us each work out how to move on from there. In these groups we:

Build relationships with others on similar journeys
Share experiences of our own journeys
Relate faith and life
Make a difference in the community
Study, learn and grow spiritually
Focus Groups consist of 8-12 individuals and are intentionally diverse. The framework for Focus Group gatherings is the set of core values of the church. These core values guide our activities and help us to assess where we are in our individual journeys. As we live into the core values of the church, we grow as individuals and as a community.
Focus Group gatherings are held at different times and in different places to help accommodate individual schedules. Currently, we have Focus Groups meeting on Saturday mornings and on different weekday evenings. New groups form as people decide to work on getting their lives into focus and give it a try!
